The importance of my country to the world - Singapore

We are given a really tough topic to discuss about this time. Singapore does not have any natural resources to provide to countries around the world. All that we have are our people, who comes from all walks of life, who are of different colour, and who are able to live together in harmony. Perhaps my country symbolizes peace, showing the rest of the world that people of different ethnicity and religion can live together.

I have two very good friends at school. One of them is a Chinese, and the other a Malay. Despite one being a christian and the other a muslim, they are the best of friends. They are a living example of how friendship crosses borders, that the relationship between people is the key to harmony. You may not agree with me, but that is how I feel.

Singapore, despite being just a tiny island, is a country that proves how strength does not come in quantity, but in quality. If Singapore does not exist..how can we even think of that? Because she does exist. And she will continue to inspire, to flourish, and to reach out.

Thank you for the wonderful post. While reading about Singapure, I sensed my Lithuania, and so the bordelines simply vanished from sight.
I am writing with the vocabulary in hands. Lithuania isnt English speaking country, but your post joined together our hearts. Thank you.

Actually your country does contribute to the world :) Economy wise, your country is stronger and has higher living standard than Malaysia. Not to forgot many foreign companies set up their branches there such as Sun Microsystem and many more because they see the importance of Singapore as the hub for doing international business. We in Malaysia often have to go tru' Singapore to do business because many internatinal companies only set up their branch in S'pore instead of M'sia(this is my personal experience).

Natural resources are what we think of right away for this topic, but there is likely much more than what we have that makes us all add to the whole world community. Thank you for putting your time and thought into this post.
